What Sets Us Apart?

At Opportunity Charter School (OCS), we hold a steadfast belief that every student can excel, irrespective of their learning differences. Beyond academic support, we are committed to offering comprehensive social-emotional support. Each grade level benefits from a designated social worker, learning specialist, and culture team member, ensuring a holistic approach to addressing our students' needs. Our overarching objective is to guide each student and equip them with a well-established academic and social foundation, as well as a profound understanding of their individual strengths and challenges.

Our Mission

The mission of Opportunity Charter School is to provide students at the highest risk of academic failure, most of whom struggle with complex learning disabilities, with intensive intervention that is responsive to their individual needs and fosters academic excellence, emotional stability, and social acceptance, preparing them to be successful in college or a career setting.

CEO/Head of School

Since joining our school in 2010, I have had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles, including as a classroom teacher, which has given me a deep understanding of our students, families, and mission. As CEO/Head of School, I am passionate about creating an environment where students who learn differently are empowered to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. If you're looking to be part of a collaborative team that is dedicated to changing lives every day, we'd love to welcome you.

Middle School Principal

My journey at OCS began in 2018 as an 11th-grade U.S. History teacher. I was then privileged with the opportunity to serve as an assistant principal at the high school, an experience that prepared me to become a middle school principal, a role I have proudly served in for the past three years.  OCS has provided me with a space to grow, lead, and utilize my perspective to help inform the continued growth of our organization. My vision as a leader is to create a learning environment where every child feels empowered to learn and believes in the possibility that they can become anything they set out to become. I want every student who walks through our doors to understand that the hope and future of our society rests on their ability to make a difference in the world. I welcome the opportunity to work with educators who share a passion for teaching and learning and who thrive in collaborative spaces dedicated to growth.
