At Opportunity Charter School, the School Culture Team plays a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming environment where students feel respected and ready to learn. As the first and last adult students students see each day, they help build trust, consistency, and a strong sense of belonging.
From arrival to dismissal, the team supports transitions, supervises shared spaces, and helps maintain a structured, positive school climate.

“Safety and boundaries matter, but we also listen,” said Mr. Johnson. “We try to give students an extra ear and comfort.”
“A ‘forever’ moment for me was when a former student thanked me for my resilience and consistency,” said Chris Haywood. “Now he’s succeeding in the workforce.”
“Being the first and last people students see each day sets the emotional tone and builds trust and consistency,” said Ms. T. “Acknowledging students…creates a strong sense of belonging.”
